Michael Silverman He/Him

Michael Silverman leads Smithbucklin’s legal strategy and provides practical, counsel that supports organizational effectiveness. Since joining Smithbucklin in 2000, he has built and led a unified legal function advising on commercial transactions, employment and labor matters, corporate governance, intellectual property, dispute resolution and enterprise risk management.

Michael develops contract templates and policies for common association activities and provides training on legal considerations to strengthen risk awareness and day-to-day operations. He also offers internal guidance on complex issues and negotiations, helping staff and boards prepare for engagements with outside counsel and third parties.

Michael administers Smithbucklin’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), supporting an ownership culture. He also serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the AMC Institute (AMCI), the industry association for association management companies.

Michael holds a J.D., cum laude, from John Marshall Law School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois.
